Michael Beehan

Advisory & Board Member
A dedicated advocate for Oak Ridge’s Spanish‑speaking community and a proud member of the Together Podemos Board of Directors. Raised in Oak Ridge, Michael’s journey has taken him from Tennessee to Mexico and back, shaping a deep appreciation for cultural connection, education, and service. After graduating from Centre College with a dual major in Spanish and History—and
competing as a two‑sport athlete—Michael moved to Valladolid, Mexico to teach English at a local college.
His time living and working in Mexico not only strengthened his fluency in Spanish but also introduced him to his wife, Lissie. Together, they later returned to Oak Ridge, where they are now raising their daughter and son.
Professionally, Michael is an attorney with Fox, Farley, Willis & Burnette, where he specializes in serious personal injury and products liability cases. Before entering the legal field, he worked as an English teacher and later as a Human Resources Director for an engineering firm—experiences that reinforced his passion for people‑focused work and cross‑cultural communication.
Outside of his professional and community work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, staying active through CrossFit, and cooking, especially Mexican food.
